Isaiah 10: 12-15 (pls read)
“I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks….”
In order not to bore you, I would go straight to what God is trying to teach us from his word that we read.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you praise YOU for something positive that happens ?, just like the Assyrian King that came back from a war God helped him fight and he got victorious, and he started boasting of how ‘strong’ and ‘powerful’ he was at battle. He forgot that there’s no strength or power without God.
Whenever things happen,we shouldn’t try to take the glory instead we should learn to give the glory back to God because he’s the one that gave you the wisdom and strength in the first place,so things would work out for your good.
Never forget that it’s God doing mighty works through you and not you.
Lets bring this to our everyday lives for a better understanding…
you passed your exams ?
you got a better job or got promoted ?
you have a unique talent (wonderful voice) ?
And you are thinking its because you ‘train’ so well, have a wonderful CV,work really hard or ‘finished reading your textbooks’… look my beloved, there are loads of people who work harder, read more than textbooks and have better CV’s and dont get the kind of results and progress you get and so correct that impression with the fact that God chose you.
And so from now on children of God, i’d like us to learn in our daily lives to give the glory back to GOD and thank Him for everything.
